Free LPN Training in New Jersey

You could possibly receive free LPN training if you live in the state of New Jersey. There are many different opportunities that you can access to receive free training for taking on an LPN Program, these could be through WIA Approved colleges, Scholarships & Grants, Job Corps or even through an employer who is willing to pay for your education provided you work for that organization for a specified period of time.

There are many LPN Programs where by you can receive a grant if you are considered to be a disadvantaged student.This could be as a result of your location of residence, financial situation or other life experiences. Many schools participate in this program. The program is intended to bring in more healthcare students to serve in the healthcare fields including nursing.  The Disadvantaged Grant/Scholarship program can help to ensure that individuals are not held back from reaching their educational goals especially if they have the potential to thrive upon receiving their education.  The financial aid office of the school you attend can help you apply if they participate in this program.

American Legion Auxiliary – State Nursing Scholarships

The scholarship program will be awarded to college Freshman working to obtain a nursing degree.  In order to apply, an individual must have a parent or grandparent who is a veteran from the state of New Jersey.  This award is for one year and the amounts received will vary.  It depends on the number of awards given and the funds for the scholarship that year.  Students will need to be receiving their nursing training through a two or four year college that is located in the state.

Eastwick College – College Road East and Route 1-Princeton, NJ 08543

As with many colleges, Eastwick College has a scholarship foundation to help provide additional financial help for students.  The foundation receives donations from various individuals and organizations.  Students can contact the financial aid office to learn how to apply for foundation scholarships.  They should also make sure to have completed the Federal Application for Student Financial Aid which can be done online.  Scholarships can require essays to be written, recommendations and various other criteria to be met.

New Jersey World Trade Center Scholarship Fund

The spouses and children of men and women who lost their lives in the Terror Attacks of September 11, 2001 can apply for this scholarships.  Individuals are able to receive help to pay to pursue a college degree.  This can certainly benefit individuals who will be working to obtain a degree as an LPN student.  High school seniors and current college students should talk to financial aid officers to learn the steps they need to apply for this scholarship.

WIA Approved Centers:

Union County College-1033 Springfield Avenu-Cranford, NJ 07016

Individuals who are hoping to become nurses and who are currently able to receive WIA benefits, should talk to the Union County College financial aid office.  It might very well be possible to receive help to pay for some of the nursing courses needed.  Nursing students can work towards a general nursing degree or can work to become an RN.  Students who are already trained as LPNs, can go for the LPN to RN Program.

Future nurses who are planning to attend Hudson County Community College should see if they qualify for any WIA funds if they are going to become an LPN and are currently unemployed or displaced workers.  It could be possible to receive significant financial help for this degree. Their practical nursing certification program makes it possible for individuals to gain the overall knowledge and clinical experience needed to begin their first career as an LPN.
