There are many ways in which one can pursue a career as an LPN for free or a reduced cost in New Mexico. You should get in touch with some of your local home health providers if you are looking to begin a career as a licensed practical nurse. Some home health agencies offer paid to work training programs. They will allow you to work as a CNA-requires certification, for them while you pursue your nursing degree. You will earn an income and have some flexibility to complete your courses. You will sign up to work for that employer for a set time after you have become a licensed practical nurse. This is one way that you could possibly receive free LPN training.
This is not an option in all locations. If you cannot find such options, look for loan forgiveness programs. Most states have undeserved areas where you can receive some financial assistance or loan forgiveness if you will work for that location as a nurse after you have become licensed. This is another way to reduce the burden of LPN tuition. You can and should also apply for grants and any scholarships for which you have found and might qualify. These are all things you can do to receive your LPN training for free or at a more manageable cost for you.
