Free LPN Training in Maryland

It is easier than you think to get free Training to become an LPN in Maryland. The state of Maryland offers a Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant Program; this grant is for careers for which there is a shortage within the state.  Nursing is generally among these careers.  You can receive a large grant to help pay to become a nurse.  It is necessary to begin working in a year or less after graduating from the program.  Students can apply for this grant program though the Maryland Higher Education Commission Office of Student Financial Assistance which is located at 839 Bestgate Road, Suite 400 in Annapolis, MD.  A student will need to makes sure they are going to pursue their career goals for certain before receiving financial help to pay.

It seems that there are an abundance of grants and scholarships that are used to help encourage men and women to join the nursing field.  There are not always enough nurses and as such there are always new federal and state programs to try to help people to be able to pay for the tuition needed to become a licensed practical nurse.  Students should fill out financial aid forms on both the state and national level.

Nursing Home Abuse.Net Awareness and Prevention Scholarship

Tuition Reduction for Non Resident Students

This program is for individuals who are attending a two or four year school in Maryland but who are not residents of the state.  The program helps reduce the cost of training or a degree program.  Individuals who are attending school part-time will need to work at a healthcare provider in the state for two years after receiving their education.  The length of time for which they must work in Maryland within a healthcare system is for four years if they were a full-time student.  Applications can be found here: h ttp://

The college offers many institutional scholarships to help students who need help paying their tuition.  These scholarships can meet a variety of needs and be awarded for various reasons:  financial need, degree pursuing, talents and community involvement just to name a few.  Individuals must complete a singular application to be considered for the well over 100 scholarships available.  Students should visit the website and sign in to apply:  They can find the information they need to begin the process once they sign in with their student ID and password.

Baltimore City Community College is a WIA provider in Washington.  WIA helps displaced workers and individuals who have been unemployed for a long time to access training to begin a new career.  Among the programs offered at the college is a 54 week practical nursing course.  The program is innovative and will provide a great way for students to learn what they need to know for a career as a nurse.  Students will be able to sit for the National Licensing exam after taking this course.

Hagerstown Community College – 11400 Robinwood Drive Hagerstown, MD 21742

One of the WIA training providers for Maryland is the Hagerstown Community College. The college makes it possible for people to train for new careers in relatively short periods of time. The school does offer an LPN program which takes about one full year to complete. This is a fast paced program but one for which students can receive the instructional assistance they need to be successful. WIA program eligible individuals can receive help paying for the schooling they need.
