As with the majority of colleges in the state, North Shore Community College has a foundation scholarships funded by various donors. Students can obtain applications to apply for a scholarship from Campus Development Offices or the financial aid office. Students will complete one application for consideration for the 80 or so scholarships available. Letters of recommendation are also required. Students must submit application no later than March to be considered for awards. Many of the scholarships are for individuals who are already students at the college.
Nursing Scholarship – Campus RN
This is a scholarship for which nursing students can apply. The person who is applying will need to have a profile of CampusRN. The student will need to complete the application for this scholarship in its entirety. Additionally, there is an essay that must be written. The essay carries heavy weight in terms of the person who is receive an award. It is important for an individual to realize that if they are narrowed down to be included in the finalist group, that they can be asked to provide additional information and documents including letters of recommendation.
Mariln Professional Scholarship Award – Massachusetts/Rhode Island League for Nursing-1 Thompson Square-Charlestown, MA 02129
Students who apply for this scholarship need to be working on an LPN degree within the state. They need to have lived for four years or more in Massachusetts. Students are not eligible until they have completed four months or more of their program. Students need to be enrolled full-time. They must be able to show that they will work hard and have the ability to achieve a great deal of success in their career as a licensed practical nurse.

Prospective college students who can receive help paying for college through the WIA act, should look into Blue Hills Regional Technical School. They should determine if they can receive help[ paying for a program there such as the LPN degree program. Students will receive the benefit of cutting edge technology for their nursing studies. Even so, they will benefit from a challenging licensed practical nursing program of study. The LPN program can put someone on the tract to a career where they can earn $40,000 or more each year.

The career training can come in the forum of vocational, technical or degree programs. One of the community colleges participating in this program is the Greenfield Community College. Those who can receive help under the WIA program should certainly talk to a financial aid officer to see if they can receive help with LPN training.

Berkshire Community College does work with the workforce investment act to provide educational solutions for people who need assistant paying to train for new job opportunities. One of the certificate programs offered is the Practical Nursing Program. This program will take four semesters to complete and requires individuals to have excellent communication skills and to uphold a high level of professionalism. The college also offers an RN nursing program for individuals who are looking to enter into a higher nursing field.
