There are often not enough qualified nurses in the state of Michigan. Therefore this state has many grant and scholarship programs to encourage individuals to pursue nursing careers. It can take some time but can also bring results to search for ways to obtain low cost or free LPN training in Michigan. In addition to these programs that provide incentives for individuals to become LPNs, there are some other ways to pay for training. Many large international companies such as Coca Cola and large local companies have special scholarship contests each year. These scholarships sometimes involve regular application processes. But there are also times when the scholarships are based on sweepstakes and drawings. These scholarships are often for several thousand dollars. In some cases winning one of these scholarships would provide more than enough money to pay the tuition and all other expenses to become a licensed practical nurse.
It is a good idea for people who are not employed or for people who are on welfare benefits to talk to their job support case worker or their local assistance office case worker. These individuals should know of programs an individual can use if they are looking to become a licensed practical nurse and struggling to find ways to pay.
Average salary for a Licensed Practical Nurse in Michigan is around $41,000
